The holidays are always a busy time of the year, but several Kloeckner branches paused their hectic schedules to give back to those in need. Hawaii, Indianapolis, Los Angeles and Tulsa partnered with different organizations and donated their time and resources to make this holiday season a cheerful one.

Kloeckner Donates Building Materials for People in Need in Haiti and El Salvador

Kloeckner Helps Rebuild in Haiti

In response to the devastation of Hurricane Matthew last year, Kloeckner Metals donated two 29 gauge 40.875 wide painted metal coils to rebuild structures in Haiti. Those coils were run through the roll former at Metal Panels Inc., a partner in the event, which turned the metal coils into metal roofing panels. The event was spearheaded by Mitch Hentkowski of Metal Panels Inc. who worked with Cross Catholic International to get the building materials where they needed to go.

Kloeckner Indianapolis Food Drive Shatters Expectations

More than 650 Items Collected

For the past few weeks, Office Manager Steve Blair at Kloeckner Indianapolis has been sharing his office with a growing pile of canned foods. As of Friday, November 17, the massive stack tallied 654 items. Then the food was collected by the local Gleaner’s Food Bank and taken to their pantries where it will help feed those in need.

#KloecknerGivesBack to Our Charity Partners: United Ministries

Kloeckner Metals Greenville recently adopted the #KloecknerGivesBack mentality and participated in a local charity food drive to help out struggling community members. The event was hosted by United Ministries which operates a local homeless day shelter called Place of Hope and provides community assistance programs, in conjunction with local churches such as Lickville Presbyterian Church. The drive collected basic hygiene and food items which were assembled into care packages to be distributed at the local shelter. In total, the drive managed to provide groceries to 2,085 local families.

#KloecknerGivesBack to our Charity Partners: Springdale Elementary

Kloeckner Metals Tulsa has partnered with local Springdale Elementary to create an ongoing charity effort to help local students. The most recent event was a “HUGS” drive for the kindergarten students at the school. The Kloeckner Tulsa branch has raised donations for hats, undergarments, gloves, and socks, which were handed out to 86 children.

Kloeckner Metals Raises Over 250 Toys in Toys for Tots Charity Event

For the fourth year in a row, the Kloeckner Metals Tulsa branch participated in a local “Toys for Tots” drive, and this year they shattered records. The office of only around 100 people managed to raise over 250 toys for the charity. Those who didn’t have the time or ability to go out shopping would give money, and designated toy buyers would go out and get the gifts.

Kloeckner Metals Donates to Charity For Haiti Hurricane Relief

The Kloeckner Metals Tulsa Building Products branch recently participated in a charity event geared toward providing relief for the victims of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti. Rather than simply giving money, the program provides building materials for shelter/home repair. As a company which sells building materials, this was a unique way that Kloeckner could help the cause. Kloeckner donated two 29 gauge 40.875 wide painted metal coils. They were run through the roll former at Metal Panels Inc., a partner in the charity event, which turned the metal into metal roofing panels.
